Greetings:
Do you know of any third party scripts that can interface with the OpenSRS system to just Register Domains and allow users to have Domain Name Management through a branded interface?
If so, what system?
Has anyone integrated such a system into H-Sphere? If so, what system, and how did it go?
Thank you.

Greetings:
Anyone?
Thank you.
I'm not sure of any like that - There must be some, I remember a while ago something on sourceforge that did something like this with osrs.
Or http://www.zaygo.com/ is some sort of shopping cart for domain names purchases - never looked at or used though.
We manage all of our domain registrations through our domain reg site, where clients can manage the NS and contact details for their domain via the control panel (for Nominet (uk domains), eNom and OnlineNic, may add osrs not sure yet though as we only have a few left over there) - this does not integrate with H-Sphere on the interface level - but any domains registered via H-Sphere are also added to our own system.

Not integrated in hsphere but I use it side by side for 2 years now.

Thank you Sean and Hans.
Hans, do you have any implementation hints, gotchas to avoid, etc. for the Opensrs-sf software?
Thank you.

I haven't done anything with the SF stuff at all, but have oooodles of experience with the cgi realm of the software suite.. (former tucows emp).
Of course, its very easy to customize (look and feel like..)..just a few html files, and there's your branding (for both reg and management). Slap in a pmt gateway a little logic for pricing, etc. and yer off to the races!
(I'd LOVE it if psoft would integrate the mgmt interface with the domains registered thru the panel... would save ALOT of us alot of greif with renewals if user profile information were avaialble to be updated via the billing profile mgr in hsphere....CRM extends outwards right?!: )

We have been with OpenSRS for several years; and I have no plans on switching from them to another registrar.
My only complaint is that they do not package their tools for those who don't have a development staff.
I'm a software engineer with a computer science degree; but I spend most of my time on server security and administration.
Most of the stuff I've seen requires more work than I generally have time to put in. Especially for me, when I want it to easily integrate with Authorize.net et al.
I agree that H-Sphere would benefit tremendously by allowing domain name registration only; for us, it would be worth a license because we know they would eventually covert into hosting customers.
Thank you.
Same here... My complaint for years (even when I was there...long story, not for public :)
It is alot of work, IMO.... especially when they change/upgrade alot, and the API has been known to change without notice too.
We are allowing domain name only registration (no mail service, practically everything disabled in the panel). We ahve a few long time domain registration-only customers (2900 names so far!) I have given them an account.
I too would (and have asked) for a stripped down domain only reg account... this is where modernbill, etc. did wonders since I could use the billing system, even for very, very low margin stuff like domains! :-/
If you want an authorize.net version running, I can help you with that (have done about 50 installs for others, mostly with auth.net)
