Has anyone had any trouble password protecting FrontPage subwebs on a Windows 2003 server? We're running a Windows 2003 server, which is part of an Hsphere CP cluster. Everytime a FrontPage user with Administrative role privileges attempts to add an additional user, making this new user an Administrator under the subweb, using unique permissions on the subweb and removing anonymous access from the subweb, the new Administrative user of the subweb cannot access the subweb from http://domain.com/subweb after typing in the correct username and password. I've noticed that the new subweb user is not being added to the Users or Settler group on the server (does this matter? I would think so, but I don't know). I've also noticed that the new user is not granted "Modify" or "Full" permissions on the subweb ACL security settings, but only "List directory contents", which I thought is awfully strange too.

We've attempted this on several different subwebs hosted under several different domains, but all on the same Windows 2003 box with no luck. We have 11 or so other Windows 2000 boxes that do NOT have this problem. Anyone have any thoughts?

Greetings:

I could be wrong, but I believe one of the Windows 2003 vesions / editions has a limitation on subwebs.

Thank you.

I am sorry for bringing up old thread, but I have the similar problem with the original poster (we're running Win2003/IIS6). Moreover, the new user users can't access subwebs at all from FrontPage. I've tried adding the new user to "Users" and "settler" group, and grant modify permission to the subweb folder. However, those doesn't seem to work at all.

Anyone know any resolution at all? Thanks in advance.
